Putin's illegal war in Ukraine has just hit a turning point after two missiles reportedly struck a Polish village near the border of Ukraine, killing two people. While the origins of the missiles are unclear, they landed about the same time as dozens of Russian missiles struck western Ukraine.

While these reports continue to remain unconfirmed, if true, it is unknown whether this was a deliberate provocation or accidental. However, considering that this apparent strike took place around the same time Russia conducted its most extensive attack on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, the fact that it occurred very close to Ukraine's border with Poland, and that the impact sight was a farm, all signs seem to point to this strike being some kind of accident.

US President Joe Biden, however, said that it appears unlikely the missiles were of Russian origin but a final determination is pending a full investigation into the event.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that there were “no strikes against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish border.
