On 8 September 2022, at 10:30 AM (PST), Buckingham Palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The announcement came only hours after doctors expressed "concern for Her Majesty’s health.”
At age 96, Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning monarch in British history, 7 years longer than Queen Victoria, Her Majesty's great-great-grandmother.
